Manchester City were faced with a late 2-1 loss to Manchester United in the latest edition of the Manchester derby on Sunday evening.
Manchester City went 1-0 up through a heading goal by Josko Gvardiol befofre the halftime break came around. It seemed as City were going to end the game with a 1-0 win, however in the 88th minute Matheus Nunes gave away a penalty after a foul on Amad Diallo and it was easy work for Bruno Fernandes who slotted away the ball into the back of the net.
But only a minute later, Amad won the game for the Red Devils, scoring a late winner which was unable to be stopped due to poor defending by Ederson and Josko Gvardiol, but incredible efforts by Amad.
Manchester City now find themselves with only one win in 11 fixtures (eight losses and two draws). a difficult time for the Cityzens, who are struggling in all competitions and disappointingly weren't able to get one over their rivals in the process.
In the Premier League, City are fifth with 27 points, nine away from leaders Liverpool and even seven away from second-place Chelsea.
Right now the Sky Blues have more trouble besides the fact retaining the titles looks rather unlikely but they are also struggling to stay in the top four, continuously dropping down to fifth; behind Arsenal and Nottingham Forest.
Pep Guardiola after derby loss
"We have been the best. If we aren't the best now it's because we don't have the players, otherwise we'd be close to Liverpool."
"Now it makes me realise how difficult it is what we've done and when we come back, wow we won't forget, because we want it and we do it,"
"We don't have a defence we lost too many games and when that happens all the criticism is deserved but we have to understand the reason why. There are things I need practice."
"Normally you have a game and day after it is recovery and the players who didn't play before you have seven or eight, one player I have."
