Manchester City claimed their second consecutive win in the Premier League weekend, after beating West ham 4-1.

The Cityzens are starting to get back to winning ways; they kicked things off against Leicester City with a 2-0 victory last week. This weekend now saw the Sky Blues defeat West ham 4-1 to claim their seventh point in their last three fixtures.

It's clear that this season has been very unusual for Manchester City, in their 29 fixtures in all competitions, City have lost nine times and drawn six.

During their match against West ham, the goals started off for Man City by Vladimir Coufal, who scored an own goal to give City the lead.

Then, right before half-time, it was Erling Haaland who doubled City's score-line and took them into the break 2-0 up.

The next half saw Haaland score a brace in the 55th minute and then Phil Foden also got his name on the scoresheet just three minutes after the prior.

Despite Niclas Fullkrug getting one back of his side, it wasn't anything but a consolation goal as Man City won the game 4-1.

While City have achieved two victories in a row, they remain outside the top four. After the weekend, they have 34 points and are ranked on sixth place, while Newcastle are one point ahead and Chelsea are two ahead. The top three sees Nottingham Forest, Arsenal and Liverpool.

Manchester City have completed their first task of 2025, and have a busy schedule for the month of January; which contains must-win fixtures in various competitions.

Pep Guardiola

"Life is not the next 20 years or century, that City are going to win (all) the Premier Leagues. Sometimes it happens: accept the reality, we're struggling, and they support us. They try to do it and we want to do it."

"It's normal reaction. Why? Because they saw something unique that this country never saw before, in terms of titles"

"I know it's like maybe it's the same and that's right, it's not. But we will do it, we will be back again. I want to fight and try to deliver to make people proud. Of course, if they help us it will be easier, that's for sure. If they help us to come to the distance that we were will be shorter."

"They are human beings and they want to do it. My players, I know them perfectly. All of them want to do it and that's enough."

"Always the fans are right. They come here to be delivered something that they enjoy. In some moments we did it, creating chances, but not in the way we were. The players know it."

"The players were there and if I said after 4-1 they were fantastic and they said Pep what are you saying? We were there, we know when we were at our best, don't lie!"

"We still have a lot of absences. I want to say thank you to Nathan (Ake) publicly because he's played in a bad condition the last two or three matches, especially against Everton and Leicester and made an incredible effort because he wasn't fully recovered.

"With Nathan, we are better. With that and hopefully Ruben (Dias) and John (Stones) and hopefully other players coming back, we can find the right moments."
