Manchester City‘s first-team playmaker, Kevin De Bruyne, announced his final position on participating in the 2023 Club World Cup.

Manchester City will participate in the next edition of the Club World Cup as champions of the Champions League for the 2022/2023 season for the first time in its history.

The 2023 Club World Cup is scheduled to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, at Al-Jawhara Stadium from December 12 to 22. The upcoming tournament will feature intense competition among prominent teams, including Al-Ahly from Egypt, Al-Ittihad from Saudi Arabia, Leon from Mexico, Manchester City from England, Auckland City from New Zealand, Fluminense from Brazil, and Urawa Red Diamonds from Japan.

But Manchester City was missing its most prominent player in recent times, Kevin De Bruyne, due to surgery he underwent last August.

De Bruyne said in statements to Sky Sports: “If things go well, I hope to return not long after the new year 2024.”

Therefore, De Bruyne will not officially be with Manchester City in the Club World Cup, which will be held on the previously mentioned date.
