The Portuguese star of Manchester City, Bernardo Silva, disclosed the factors that prompted him to turn down offers from Saudi Arabia during the most recent summer transfer window.
Al Hilal was interested in signing Bernardo, but the talks fell through, and the player decided to stay with Manchester City.
Bernardo stated, “I would be lying if I said I didn’t think about the lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia,” in remarks to the Portuguese television station “RTP.”
The City player went on, “The excitement of competing in the Champions League semifinal, hearing the roar of the Etihad Stadium when we won against Real Madrid, or when we beat Inter Milan in the championship game, is what drew my attention. I’m not willing to give up on it.”
Silva helped Manchester City break new records by winning the FA Cup, the English Premier League, and the Champions League.
