Manchester City were victorious over the weekend as they overcame Manchester United in a big 3-1 win after goals from Roord, Hemp, and Bunny Shaw.
Now, Gareth Taylor and the squad return to FA League Cup action in their third group-stage game against Leicester City. So far, the Cityzens have claimed two wins, the first coming over Everton in a close 2-1 game and the second over Liverpool in a 4-3 triumph.
Gareth Taylor
The head manager started by discussing the opposition by saying, “I don’t expect anything different from what we’ve seen,” City have already met Leicester this season in the WSL, which ended in a 1-0 win for Taylor’s side. “The last game was a positive for us.”
“The competition doesn’t give you many chances, so it’s important that we don’t take it lightly. Important to get nine points on the board; it gives us a good chance of progressing.”
A win over Leicester would surely put Man City in a safe spot in terms of advancement to the later stages and not to mention a good position before meeting United in their last game of the group stage.
Our prediction:
Man City 2-1 Leicester City
