“Don’t see it as a short-term thing” says Gareth Taylor

Manchester City are preparing for a clash with Leicester City tomorrow evening, which will be their last game of this month. City go into this game as league leaders and will have to expect a challenging game with Leicester, who are currently on second spot, with goal difference separating the two sides.
Head manager Gareth Taylor has spoken out ahead of Saturday’s very exciting fixture; here is what he had to say,
“The only player out is Demi Stokes (for this weekend), but we have had her on the pitch. So, we’re hoping for a full integration after the international break.”
Leila Ouahabi has also returned after being absent for the last few games due to suspension in their opening WSL game.
Gareth then discussed Leicester City and how they’ve improved from the previous season, resulting in them claiming second place thus far, ” I’m not surprised. I saw signs of this team performing the way they are performing last season. They are a force to be reckoned with at the moment.”
Manchester City had an incredible day when they met Bristol City last week, getting a 5-0 win, and now they are the League leaders, but Gareth Taylor has emphasised that this shouldn’t be seen as a short-term thing, “We’re pleased to be top of the table, but we don’t see it as a short term thing. We want to be there and go into the break still at the top.”
Overall, while City going into week four as leaders is a commendable achievement considering the amount of talent in the WSL, Taylor’s mindset is vital and shows that City are serious contenders for this 23/24 season.
Make sure to tune into this top-of-the-table matchup on Saturday, the 21st October, at 17:15 (UK).
Our prediction:
Leicester 1-2 Man City
The Manchester City men’s team will also be playing their first game back from the international break tomorrow, as they take on Brighton & Albion Hove at 15:00 (UK).
