Manchester City started their Women’s Super League campaign last week, claiming a 2-0 win over West Ham, with goals from Lauren Hemp and Jill Roord to seal the deal. Now, they face Chelsea, who will be heavy favourites to win the WSL once again.

We know that winning a game against Chelsea will require much more than their previous game, but here is some positive news for Manchester City fans to ease the nerves, as Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw could possibly feature on Sunday after missing out on the former due to injury.

Head manager Gareth Taylor has spoken ahead of tomorrow’s big game and said, ” Bunny is in good shape, better than last week. She’s been training with us the last few days; she’s in contention for the weekend, so that’s good news.”

The Jamaican international was one of City’s most crucial names last year, scoring 31 goals in 30 games. Gareth Taylor and the club will surely know the importance of her presence in their side.

During the press conference, Taylor commented on the big task City have upcoming for them when they meet Chelsea, ” Every game is important. Last week was tough, but the performance was top. Everyone contributed very well. Nothing changes if we lose ( to Chelsea ); we move on to the next one. ”

Man City go into the game above Chelsea, as they sit on third spot, with Chelsea just a little lower on fifth.

Manchester City vs Chelsea takes place on Sunday, 8th October, at 12:30 (UK).
