Manchester City have a top-of-the-table clash against Arsenal this upcoming Sunday, and after losing out on points for the first time this season in the Premier League last weekend, they will aim to get the better third-placed Arsenal.

This will be City’s last game before their players head for the international break, and getting three points will be vital in a bid to keep their name at the top of the table. They currently have 18 pts, with Arsenal being one point behind, 17 pts, but on third spot.

Both sides come into this at the back of European games, with City getting another 3-1 win in the UCL, and less celebratory for the Gunners, who lost their second group game to Lens, 2-1.

The rivalry between the two teams was the front and center of the last PL season, where City completed the job and won first place, with Arsenal finishing in second.

And, again, both clubs are incredibly close with a high chance of having another title race. In their last two Premier League encounters, City claimed two big wins, 3-1 and 4-1, but most recently, Arsenal defeated City 1-1 ( 4-1 on penalties ) to win the Community Shield.

Manchester City’s squad situation

Pep Guardiola has been able to welcome back many players who were suffering injuries, but three still remain unable to play against Arsenal;

Kevin De Bruyne, expectantly remains out, John Stones, who did indeed return to the squad a few days ago, is still not ready to play, confirms Pep, and Rodri, who is still suspended.

So, here is our predicted line-up:

31. Ederson

2. Walker, 3. Dias, 6. Ake, 25. Akanji

27. Nunes, 8. Kovacic

47. Foden, 19. Alvarez, 20. Bernardo

9. Haaland

Score prediction

Arsenal 1-3 Man City

It will be a tough game for the Citizens; we know the quality Arsenal have and their potential to get something from the meeting, as they did in the Community Shield, but, Man City have been proving they can overcome the difficult obstacles, therefore, they should get the win and stay at the top of the Premier League table.

Arsenal vs Manchester City will be played on Sunday, the 8th October, at 16:30pm.
