Manchester City had a solid start to the 2023/24 English Premier League season. During the month of August, they played three EPL matches as well as the FA Community Shield and UEFA Super Cup.

The Sky Blues won all of their league matches in August, and they made history by winning their first Super Cup title. They did, however, fail to defeat Arsenal in the FA Community Shield on penalties. But overall, the Mancunians did well in August 2023

The Sky Blues will now move on to September 2023, where they will play five matches.

City will start the month at home against Fulham on Saturday, 2nd September. The Sky Blues struggled against the Cottagers last season, where they squeezed by with a 2-1 victory in both fixtures. Fulham have since enhanced the quality of their squad, and they recently earned a hard-fought 2-2 draw against Arsenal. They should not be overlooked.

After this match, Manchester City will travel to London on Saturday, 16th September, to face West Ham United. Like Fulham, the Hammers have also earned an impressive result at the beginning of the season, seeing off Chelsea in a 3-1 victory. The Sky Blues should not underestimate these opponents, either.

Then, on the 19th September, City will start their Champions League journey against Red Star Belgrade.

The Mancunians will then return home on Saturday, 23rd September, to face Nottingham Forrest. The club nearly made headlines at the start of the season when they narrowly lost against Arsenal and Manchester United. While Forest lost, the results showed that the club could hold their own against stiff opposition and that they would make things both difficult and interesting.

Finally, Manchester City will conclude September 2023 with a match away at Wolverhampton Wanderers on 30th September. Wolves finished in thirteenth last season, where they found themselves in the relegation battle for part of 2022/23. They survived; however, they will be looking for a stronger display this season.

Overall, the Sky Blues have four opponents on paper that they should be able to overcome. Many would expect Manchester City to win all four of these matches, but time will tell how the matches will end. How will the Mancunians fare in September 2023?
