It’s that time of year again; it’s the Champions League group stage draw! Meaning, we’re just around the corner from Matchday One!

As last season concluded on the 10th of June, we now look towards the new edition of the much-loved competition, which features all of Europe’s best.

For Manchester City, who are the current European champions for the first time in their history, they will find out their fate on who they will start their journey against in a bid to have another successful campaign.

So, here is a look at all the teams taking part in today’s draw and who City could be up against.

Pot One

While City will not be paired up with the likes of Bayern Munich or Barcelona, they still could face quite the group as Real Madrid, AC Milan, Atletico, and Inter Milan, which would make a repeat of last season’s final, all remain as prospects for a matchup.

City will also not face any Premier League opposition, meaning United, Arsenal, or Newcastle, until the quarter-finals, that is, of course, if City or any of these teams are still involved by that point.

Man City most definitely will go into this new group and UCL season as the favorites. Doing well in whatever their group will be will be the likely outcome, despite the opponents that are available to them.

As for the possibility of doing the back-to-back, City are placed as one of the favorites, alongside 14-time champions Real Madrid, and German giants, Bayern Munich.

The Champions League draw is scheduled to take place in Monaco, at 16:45 (UK time), on TNT Sports 1 and also for free on their YouTube channel.
