“We kept doing what we do best” says Ruben Dias

Day three of the 23/24 Premier League unfolded over the weekend, and it was a highly intense game against Sheffield United for Manchester City, who had to wait until the very last minutes of 90 to secure the three points.
After Erling Haaland put City 1-0 up in the 63rd minute, it seemed plain sailing from there on out, but, Sheffield’s Jayden Bogle had different plans as he equalized with only five minutes left to go.
The drawing score-line would have given Sheffield their first point of the new campaign, as they hadn’t managed to secure a win or draw in their two previous games against Crystal Palace or Nottingham Forest.
What looked like a 1-1 draw for the treble holders turned into a win as Rodri found the back of the net in the 88th minute. The three hard-earned points keep City at the top of the League table with 9/9 points.
Ruben Dias spoke on the team’s performance with the Manchester City official website.
“We showed a lot of patience, we didn’t get frustrated, and we did what we do best. We got it and it’s very important.
“For the team that wins the Premier League, it’s a build-up of small wins and margins, we all know it. We’ve been there, and we’ve done that. It wasn’t easy, but we’re very happy to have won.”
Dias mentioned some thoughts on Pep’s current absence, as the manager finds himself recovering from an injury.
“He has been with us for a long time, so obviously, we miss him and want him back. We understand what we have to do meanwhile”
The Portuguese defender ended his interview by saying, “We had a few nerves near the end, but we got the three points, and now we move forward.”
Next up for Man City is Fulham, who they will host at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, 2nd September, at 15:00 (UK)
