Fulham and West Ham register interest in Manchester City defender

The youth academy of Manchester City football club has produced some phenomenal talent over the last few years. One such City talent is Taylor Harwood-Bellis. Joining the club at the age of 6, Harwood-Bellis has been a part of the City setup almost his entire life.

Since having made his debut in the senior team in 2019, Harwood-Bellis has had loan spells at many different clubs. However, his most successful loan spell came at Burnley last season, as he guided them back to the Premier League.

Not only that, but the young defender also led England to their first U21 European Championship in 39 years. Due to these performances, teams like Fulham and West Ham have registered their interest in the young English defender.

Entering the last year of his contract with City, Harwood-Bellis is valued at £15m. It will be interesting to see if the Englishman departs from his boyhood club to join another team in Europe. While the competition to break into the first team is very high at MCFC, Harwood-Bellis could be a star in the future. Considering he has leadership qualities, the Englishman would be a vital asset for Manchester City.

It had been 39 years since England had won the U21 European Championship. However, on Saturday last week, Taylor Harwood-Bellis and his England team ended this drought for the Three Lions. In a tough game against Spain, England clinched a 1-0 victory.

A free kick by Cole Palmer took a heavy deflection and went inside the net. This free-kick proved to be the only difference-maker in the match. Watching players like Palmer and Harwood-Bellis, City fans can be assured that the future of the club is in safe hands. It will be interesting to see how these players grow in the near future.
