Manchester City target Aston Villa left-back as a priority signing
Over the years, Manchester City has built a squad full of talent and enthusiasm. In fact, the performances of the current City team speak highly of its talent. While the players are a huge part of City’s success, manager Pep Guardiola deserves praise too. After all, it is his tactics and signings that have made MCFC a massive success.
Since Guardiola took charge of the club in 2016, he signed many talented players like Erling Haaland, Jack Grealish, Riyad Mahrez, and Kyle Walker to name a few. Now if reports are to be believed, the Spanish manager is looking to further polish his squad by signing Aston Villa left-back Álex Moreno.
Since the departure of Joao Cancelo to Bayern Munich on loan, City is without a recognized left back. And based on their rumored fallout, it is highly unlikely that Cancelo will continue at the club next season. Hence, as per reports, signing Moreno is a priority for Guardiola.
This season, Manchester City have the chance of winning a treble. While they are alive in the race for the Premier League title, City also are in the FA Cup final, and in the Champions League semi-final. Naturally, City will look to finish this season on a strong note, and then build for the next season by signing quality players.
Manchester City target Alex Moreno is enjoying a great season in the Premier League
Starting his professional football career in 2011, Alex Moreno came to light when he started playing for Real Betis in 2019. His performances for the La Liga club earned him a £13.3m transfer to Aston Villa in January 2023. While it’s been only four months since Moreno started playing for Villa, the Spanish player has impressed many clubs and fans with his performances.
In 16 appearances for the team, Moreno has provided 3 assists. Along with operating as a left-back, the 28-year-old can also play as a left-winger. His passing, crosses, and concentration make him an extremely talented player. Based on his game, if Manchester City is able to land Moreno, the player can be an asset to the club.
