Much like the previous entry, the 2013/14 matchup between these two giants had little to actually play for. Both teams had qualified from the group prior to the match, although Bayern were still ahead on points following a 3-1 trashing of City at the Etihad Stadium.

It seemed like business as usual for the reigning Champions League’ holders, with Bayern taking a 2-0 lead in 12 minutes. It appeared that the best team in Europe would continue their unbeaten run and make it a perfect 18 points to close out the groups. Not if Manchester City had anything to say about it.

David Silva once again scored against the German club to begin the comeback. An Aleksandar Kolarov penalty levelled the score with 30 minutes left  to play but James Milner would make sure the comeback was completed much quicker than that.

Just three minutes after the penalty, Milner would stun the crowd at the Allianz Arena and give City an improbable lead, one they would hold onto until the end.

Although both teams were guaranteed a spot in the knockout phases, it did not take away from the excitement or the feeling of having beat the reigning European champions at their stadium.
