No doubts that Pep will want his best out there at this stage of the season, and we are likely to see Rodri with Stones in the double pivot – but will Pep have the midweek clash with Bayern on his mind?

Gundogan (C)

The skipper may not have pace, but his ability to control the game and pick up the ball in pockets of space to drive the City attack is key. His movement off the ball and his runs towards the back post will be needed against a no-doubt low block Southampton.

De Bruyne
