Leeds vs. Manchester City: predicted line-up for Premier League Champions
By Laura Graves
Ederson
Whilst Ortega has made good impressions and a solid start to life as a blue, the Brazilian and Pep’s first choice is back from the World Cup having only featured in a minor capacity.
Eddie will be hoping to pick up where he left off and add to his collection of clean sheets – and hopefully, golden gloves.
Walker
City have seemed shaky in defence, and it is no coincidence that this has been without the massively underrated Kyle Walker. Bringing one of the most crucial elements to the backline; pace.
Stones
Stones returned from international duty and is FIT! What? It’s a Christmas miracle, isn’t it? In addition to Walker missing many games, the constant rotation between centre backs has also left defence shakier than usual. I expect to start seeing a more regular pairing.
Laporte
Paired with Stones, is arguably our best CB pairing in terms of offensive or build up play. We know that that Leeds will press high and fast, which means we will need those most comfortable on the ball at the back tonight.
Cancelo
The Portuguese has received plenty of criticism for his dip in form over the last couple of months, however, there is no doubt about his ability. With Walker back, this takes huge pressure off him, and allows him to focus on the creative aspect of his game.
