Aymeric Laporte and Rodri

The two City players formed a centre back partnership and they allowed the midfield to flourish in a one-sided win.

Much of the 7-0 win plaudits came in the form of the wonderkids, however Rodri shouldn’t go unnoticed in that. Particularly those first half stats were exceptional.

Pedri and Gavi will likely take much of the pressure from the Spanish fans, and should they perform, then why not to think they can all the way. Especially, if Ferran Torres scores the goals.

The tactical nous of Luis Enrique, who has continued the freedom of tiki-taka style of good football, will hold them in better stead over the others.

Chance of winning the World Cup – Very good – Many thought that the game against the Germans will define the group, however it is Japan that could see them advance as group winners.
