Ilkay Gundogan

Got the goal from a penalty in their opening-round defeat to Japan, which puts added pressure on the next game against Spain this evening.

Japan losing to Costa Rica has given them a small degree of hope should they be defeated against their European counterparts.

Gundogan will be hoping for magic from Musiala, Gnarby and Havertz to progress.

Many never saw Hansi Flick’s as potential dangerous team, however write the Germans off at your own peril as they come to life in knockout football.

The four-time winners will not fear anyone from Group F should they advance into the next round, as Belgium and KDB has largely disspaointed while Croatia and Canada

An early departure will do City wonders but not the German who was hoping to emulate the 2014 winning squad after he missed that one through injury.

Possibly his last chance as he’ll be 35 by the time the next World Cup comes around

Chances of winning the World Cup – Moderate – Japan’s defeat to Costa Rica helped them massively and their fate is in their hands. Who knows what momentum could do if advance.
