The Swiss centre-back came into City and fitted in perfectly adding solidity to our defensive ranks.

The nation of Lindt and economic riches will be hoping that one of their main players will be able to get them out of a tough group, providing stability in the face of Richarlison, Neymar and Mitrovic.

Brazil is the favourite, not just for the group, but the tournament itself, then there are tough challenges in the form of Serbia.

Their win against Cameroon puts them in good stead and they will need to take points off Serbia next to advance. If they were to then they have excelled against expectations.

Switzerland will do well to qualify and should they do then they are likely going to face a group winner in the round of 16. A tough task handed to them.

Chances of winning the World Cup – None – can’t see their quality being advanced past the quarter-finals. But it is football after all
