The Champions League campaign began with a thumping 4-0 win away against Sevilla. A venue historically has always been tough to get a result at.

A 2-1 win at home over Dortmund followed, a tough game with a John Stones rocket cancelling out Bellingham’s opener (be nice to see him score for us at the Etihad, one can dream) and a late Erling Haaland winner against his old side setting us up well in the group.

The third game followed with a 5-0 win at home over FC Copenhagen, which lead to consecutive nil all draws against Copenhagen and Dortmund, both away, thus sealing another group win for us.

A final game at home to Sevilla ended in a 3-1 win and set us up for a second round tie with RB Leipzig in February to come. A great group campaign and to seal qualification so quickly was key in such a cluttered early season fixture.

A fourth round Carabao Cup tie at to Liverpool awaits after a great 2-0 win over Chelsea at home. It showed how great our goal keeping options are with a great performance from Stefan Ortega and quite possibly the best performance for Manchester City from Jack Grealish. Be great if that’s a sign of what’s to come from Grealish post the World Cup.
