Ortega

In the run up to this fixture, City’s newest keeper has made a couple of appearances. This was when I predicted that his recent starts were for the purpose of getting him up to speed for the Carabao Cup.

Akanji

Could be Stones, but we know he’s like glass and he might be saved for the weekend. Akanji has done okay in this position, in the absence of Walker, and with Cancelo out of the game, there will be a shift in the backline. I personally would like to see another Rico Lewis start – unlikely.

Dias and Laporte

Both of whom were rested against the utter carnage against Fulham last weekend – though our number 3 did make a short cameo in the last minute of additional time.

Gomez

Brilliant going forward, with his natural position being midfield. However, he has done an okay job so far considering he in mere months into adapting to Pep’s system. He will need to stay switched on positionally for those runs in behind from an old familiar face!
