Steffan Ortega – 6

Flapped at a cross and looked uncomfortable when the game was won. Didn’t have much to do as Sevilla strikers struggled to hit the target.

Rico Lewis – 8
He’s one of our own! The 17-year-old had a great second half moving more onto the wing and his goal was a certain highlight in the young man’s career.

Ruben Dias – 7
You could say his presence should be dealing with the unmarked Rafa Mir for the first goal, even though Gomez was the closest. Had two headers in the second half but straight at the keeper.

Aymeric Laporte – 7
Can’t remember much of his involvement which is always good as a defender.

Sergio Gomez – 6
Lost his man at the corner but showed good attacking qualities going forward in the second half.

Must Read. Growing up a City fan on the other side of world. light

Ilkay Gundogan – 7
Had a great chance in the first half following a neat one-two with Foden. Controlled the flow of the game but he is more influential when arriving late in the box from a more advanced position. Had 15 minutes to prove that following the tactical tweak.

Cole Palmer – 6
Kevin De Bruyne showed the difference in quality within three minutes of coming on. Had a chance early on but felt he always tried to play safe.

Phil Foden – 7

One of the most influential in terms of picking up positions, thought he was the best player in the first half. Others starred as he dimmed in the second half.

Riyad Mahrez – 6.5
Put the icing on the cake but felt he took too many touches when in possession and slowed the game too much.

Julian Alvarez – 8
Just ten touches in the first half with two in the opposition box in the first half as his pressing was the thing of note. Second half he came to the show, with a goal (fantastic finish) and two assists, one of which was won from his own pressing.

Jack Grealish – 6.5
Only had 45 minutes but showed some good forward intent and the link-up play with Foden created good chances.

Substitutes

Rodri – 7
Controlled the game when came on and was key to the tactical change.

Bernardo Silva – 7
Always wanted the ball and helped speed up the play. Show his quality by helping control the game.

Kevin De Bruyne – 7
Just watch King Kev’s assist and that is all that needs to be said.
