Stop teasing us, Pep! Fantasy Premier League can give us a headache every week when choosing our team in the hope of hitting the high end of the maximum weekly points total.
Many are at the migraine stage now deciding whether to continue with Erling Haaland or find a short-term solution for this gameweek.
The Manchester City striker was withdrawn at half-time against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League and has been confirmed as a doubt going into this weekend’s Premier League action. A foot injury is the problem and he is also recovering from the ‘influenza’.
Many were waiting for Pep’s press conference for the team news, but in typical style, the Spaniard gave nothing away.
"Speaking about his star striker, Guardiola said: “He feels better but we will train this afternoon and we will assess in a few hours. We will see how he is feeling and then we will decide.”"
Thanks, Pep! Keep your cards close to your chest.
Erling Haaland is selected by 82.5% of team owners and many will be hoping that the Norwegian will be ready to tee off when he arrives at the King Power tomorrow and bag another brace or more.
I’m doubtful especially after he was seen ‘limping’ into a medical assessment earlier in the week, all for it that his reported smile and relaxed demeanour told a different story.
So, is he worth the risk?
The short answer is yes. If there is a chance he will be stepping onto the pitch tomorrow then all FPL players will take that gamble, especially after what he already offered.
The striker has scored 17 goals in just 11 Premier League appearances, amassing 117 points without being a captain pick, 35 points ahead of his nearest challenger, Harry Kane.
With a naive Leicester defence, a fully fit Haaland will be wanting to exploit that weak back four and any space they may leave in behind.
Due to the doubt, I’ve removed the captain’s armband and handed it to Kevin De Bruyne to pull the strings and hopefully score the most amount of points this week. I’ve also beefed up the scoring options on the bench in hope of them bagging the points should he not lace his boots.
A mere paracetamol to my earlier headache should I not miss the blonde viking that much.
But if you are looking to sell Haaland, then look no further than his direct replacement, Julian Alvarez, as he will be looking to profit from a role up front.
C’mon City fans, let us know your thoughts on whether you will be keeping or selling Haaland just for this gameweek.
