Ederson

After criticism last season, Ederson has upped his game this season and has made some crucial saves. Despite conceding a goal against Liverpool, one he could do little about, he has been in fine form.

Akanji

Can we expect to see a solid defensive option on the right again after Cancelo’s trial last weekend which saw us concede the only goal of the game after leaving the Portuguese to man Salah alone?

Walker still not back in team training, however, pushing his recovery to make himself available for what will likely be his final World Cup.

Dias

After a decent defensive performance last weekend, it seems that our number 3 is on his way back to his peak after sustaining an injury last season.

Laporte

Arguably our best “technical” CB is likely to return to the starting line-up after missing such an intense game at Anfield. Presumably left out in order to protect him and manage his return from injury well.

Cancelo

Whilst he may benefit from a bit of a “rest” after cupping his ears at City fans in our last home game, to then admit responsibility for the only goal conceded at Anfield and a poor overall performance there, his creative and attacking ability isn’t to be questioned.
