Manchester City vs. Copenhagen: Champions League predicted line-up
By Laura Graves
Ederson
The Brazilian only cost 30 million, and he made a couple of boo boo’s in the derby. However, as always, his passing was exemplary, and his calmness helps us to resist the press. He’s a starter.
Cancelo
We are likely to see our number 7 on the right-side midweek after Walker picked up an injury in the derby. The passionate Portuguese put in a solid performance both in defence and attack, and we need more of that in the Champions League.
Akanji
Our new centre back is massively impressing fans, and no doubt impressing Pep. He absolutely deserves to keep his starting place in the backline. A very assured and dominant performance in such a big game at the weekend – see you Wednesday, Akanji!
Dias
Pep shocked fans and rivals with his decision to leave our number 3 on the bench, especially because he “hates United and loves City”. The gaffer claimed that Dias needed a rest, and so we should expect to see him return for the Champions League.
Ake
Gomez made an appearance in the derby, and an impressive one at that, grabbing an assist for Haaland’s hat-trick. Ake was also fantastic, and filled in on the left after Pep made his subs. I think we will see Gomez again, but a start with experience.
