Edwin van der Sar OR Ederson

James – Probably one of the toughest choices I’ve had to make as I rated Van der Sar’s influence on their Premier League and Champions League success to be high. His shot-stopping ability matches Ederson, however there is one significant difference for me: technical ability with their feet. The Brazilian has that in abundance and modern football now requires a ‘keeper to be just as  comfortable with their feet than their hands. Correct me If I’m wrong but cannot remember Edwin that great with his lower half limbs.

Laura – Perhaps I am looking through my blue tinted gigs, but Eddie for me. Echoing James, Ederson’s ability on the ball could see him in midfield and in the modern era, this is massively important. Ederson could bathe in his Golden Gloves at this point.
