Pep Guardiola must be happy with the business done over the summer, returning a sizeable profit and getting rid of a uninterested player. It works in his favour and for City as, like he said, he’d rather work with players who want to play for the club. Those exits reflect that.

He has got one of them, maybe two, out of the door and has returned a profit by doing so in the process. The departures are dominated by the healthy profit of the three big sales.

The signing of Erling Haaland for £50 odd million reflects the bargain of the decade after his form already has seen him hit double figures in six games. Amazing!

The only negative for me is that the squad can seem too thin, especially if a few injuries hit the squad.

Well done City! An amazing summer for the champions.
