There is romance in football and if Cupid is shooting his arrows in Istanbul today then Borussia Dortmund will be picked alongside Manchester City, just so Erling Haaland can revisit the yellow wall. Potentially, show them what they are missing.

It may allow City to strike up negotiations for hot prospect and Premier League incoming, Jude Bellingham.

Inter Milan and Napoli will be dangerous ties, especially now the Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez partnership is striking hot. Napoli is never a comfortable place to go, for players and fans, and the Italian outfit already look red hot in Serie A, scoring nine goals in two games.

City easily disposed of Sporting Lisbon last year with a demolition in the Portuguese capital and likely will do the same again, although a potential returning Cristiano Ronaldo may make things a little more difficult.

Shakhtar Donetsk will be the weakest team on paper after their Brazilians departed the club but they will be playing with heart following the Russian military invasion and current situation in their country.

Returning to the domestic league in their homeland but Shakthar will travel to Warsaw (Poland) to play their home games.

City will certainly fancy their chances against Bayer Leverkusen and RB Salzburg, while Benfica could prove a tricky away trip given their European pedigree at the Estádio do Sport.
