By Laura Graves
Manchester City have a unique relationship with the UEFA Champions League cartel. One of the most prestigious competitions in football according to some.
A competition in which a clubs success is measured by, and one that has proven a challenge for Manchester City for a number of reasons – the most realistic conclusion has to be the Yaya curse.
The Champions League draw for this season went ahead this Thursday in Istanbul, Turkey. Interestingly, City legend Yaya Toure completed the draw; will this finally be the end of the curse? Got to be!
The blues have been drawn in group G, along with Borussia Dortmund, Sevilla and FC Copenhagen. Sevilla being the six-time Europa League champions, FC Copenhagen, the Danish league champions, and Haalands ex, Dortmund who we have beat a few times.
The fixtures for the group stages are yet to be announced, however, all group stage games will take place before the World Cup this winter.
Just like every season, Pep will be looking to lead City to the top of the group and will hope to see the blues over the finish line this time.
