Manchester City played their first home game of the season yesterday as they faced Bournemouth at the Etihad. The Blues kicked off with a bang, literally, with fireworks to welcome home the Champions.

The Blues eased to a 4-0 victory over Bournemouth, who, did have one or two threatening moments. Beyond that, their gameplan was to sit back and limit the damage that was likely to occur.

Fans were excited to see the boys in blue back at the Etihad, and keen to see the home debut of Erling Haaland, who didn’t get himself on the scoresheet, though did register an assist for City’s first.

The four goals came from the Blues skipper, Mr Whippy, Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden, and some Cancelo trickery that forced an own goal. Here are the player ratings:
