The summer period is over and after the England Women won the European Championships, it is now time to look forward to another Premier League season.

The 2022/23 season will see City start as favourites with Liverpool close by and expected to mount a serious challenge. It is the Champions League that City look stronger for but we can save those predictions for another day.

So, Man City Square writers give their predictions and it is the perfect opportunity to hear your predictions too, so let’s hear them, whether you agree with ours or not. We shall start with one that is likely to be one-sided……

Who will win the title?

James Fudge – Hard to look past Manchester City and Liverpool for the title with City’s experience in these run-ins being the decider. Any injuries to City’s key men (Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva and Ruben Dias) could sway the title over to Merseyside given their greater strength in depth in key areas though. Tottenham with the Conte factor will bring them closer to the top two with Arsenal being too far behind to be title contenders past January.

Laura Graves – Liverpool. in my opinion, City just don’t have a big enough squad to compete on all 4 fronts this season, so what is realistic? Just a couple of injuries away from disaster. Call me a pessimist. Though, in my view, Spurs have a good set up across the board to win the league. Their style of play doesn’t leave for much vulnerability and they have strengthened in important areas, with a good manager.

Brian Buller – The way the league has played out over the last 5 or so years it is hard to look past Manchester City and Liverpool. I am all for another team or two getting in the mix, would certainly make it more entertaining. But for me, any team that finishes above City will have done exceptionally well and given how strong the City squad is, I can’t look past them wrapping up a third title in a row.
