West Ham vs. Man City: Predicted Line-up for Premier League return
By Laura Graves
Ederson
Despite the arrival of last season’s Bundesliga impressive shot-stopper, Pep surely cannot leave out our very own Golden Glove and four-time Premier League winner.
Ederson has received a lot of stick online for his performances, with some claiming that the opposition need just one shot on target to score. It seems that some are unable to appreciate the importance of him to Pep’s style of play.
The Brazilian had an impressive season in 21/22, which takes some doing in one of, if not thee most competitive league in the world.
Making 37 Premier League appearances, he kept whopping 20 clean sheets, conceding just 26 goals, and making 60 saves. All whilst the backline in front of him dropped like flies throughout the season.
Interestingly, there is an improvement that the City keeper has made, and nobody is talking about it. He made zero errors leading to a goal last season, which highlights his reluctance to be impulsive within his box.
With some glaring mistakes in the previous season, this could be something he has purposely worked on. However, a downside to this is that he has occasionally looked more hesitant when the opposition drive towards him.
Regardless, the best Brazilian keeper in the league keeps his number one spot for me.
