I, like most of you, find myself pining over our boys in blue and the joy (and stress) they bring us every week. Which is why I have been reflecting on last seasons top moments from our Premier League Kings.

Before the 21/22 season even kicked off, the summer transfer window was bringing more drama than the toilet water, Love Island.

Another Lionel Messi saga: will he or won’t he finally link back up with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City? I think we can all agree that his eventual move to PSG was one of the most anticlimactic transfers of all time, as City avoided the salary demands of the superstar.

There was the rumoured £150m for Harry Kane with a Txiki and Daniel Levy standoff – thank you for being ludicrous, Levy. Who’s laughing now? At the time, there was a desperation from City fans to see a top-quality striker signed after the exit of Sergio Aguero, and with other teams seemingly strengthening.

After City lost interest in Kane, the outrageous rumours of Ronaldo to the blue side of Manchester began to take off like a 1980’s concord. All I can say is, thank you, to the Glazers for panicking and taking him back to Old Trafford to keep the Norwich scarf army quiet for a while!

And we got our £100m man, not Kane, but Jack Grealish. Which at the time raised some blue eyebrows, and he has faced criticism all season, albeit not from City fans.

Despite not contributing with as many goals or assists as we’d have hoped. City fans have fallen in love with calves for the incredible human being that he is, seeing that the quality is there, with the faith that his goals/assists will come.

To continue the drama, City kicked off the season with a loss to prime Barcelona *checks notes*….no, Spurs. Of course, as predicted by every City fan on the planet, it was a winner by Son and Spurs took the three points.

So, let’s reflect on some of Manchester City’s top moments of the season.
