Making sense of the #Haaland2024 news currently being spread by Diario AS
Spanish news outlet, Diario AS broke the news that Real Madrid will go all-in for Erling Haaland before the start of 2023/24, just a year after signing for Manchester City.
Keeping aside LaLiga’s aggression towards Man City, another reason fueling to the build-up of this news is Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez’s comment on Erling Haaland in a recent interview with El Chiringuito.
"“Mbappé deal didn’t create any problem with Haaland deal, absolutely. We have Benzema, so it was impossible to have him with Karim. We can’t sign Haaland to stay on the bench”. “Haaland is an amazing, fantastic player”."
These were Florentino Perez’s exact words as he confessed to Real’s interest in Haaland while explaining why they didn’t make a move to sign him.
Now, our dear Spanish outlets like to stir things up, they made good use of Perez’s words and extensively reported as if Haaland will only make the bench at Manchester City while Real suits him more.
Real Madrid talisman, Karim Benzema’s contract runs till the summer of 2023 after they will require a new centre-forward, but I am pretty sure it won’t be Haaland. City isn’t that easy to break when it comes to dealings in the transfer market while Real will also look to not worsen their relationship with Man City.
I can say this loud and clear: “HAALAND IS HERE TO STAY!”
So these were my thoughts about the #Haaland2024 propaganda which has become a familiar topic since Friday. Do join the conversation on our official Twitter handle @ManCitySquare and Facebook page, we are always looking forward to it!
