The most likely to be leaving this summer is the Brazilian forward as the transfer of Erling Haaland will push him further down the pecking order, while he battles Julian Alvarez for that second berth.

Although he was used primarily on the right flank last season, Gabriel Jesus will want to be the main striker, the number nine, and the focal point of the attack adding to his goal tally. He hasn’t shown enough of that goalscoring potential to guarantee a regular starting berth prompting Pep Guardiola to play with a false nine and without a forward for the past two seasons.

If he is granted his wish, then he will have a host of choices to pick from. It is reported that Arsenal and Chelsea remain the favourites for the transfer, however clubs in Italy and Spain are both options despite not being named.

Transfer specialist, Fabrizio Romano, claims he is definite to leave. It is reported the Technical Director, Edu Gaspar’s, Brazilian relationship will favour Arsenal, however City has supposedly offered the striker to Chelsea for £50 million.

Rating: This has the potential to disrupt the player and club with Gabriel Jesus unlikely to be second or third choice. Offers and interest are there and City should take advantage of it.

The move could do the Brazilian the world of good, going to a club where he will know he’ll be a guaranteed starter week in and week out.

Likely destination come September: London – Chelsea or Arsenal.
