The Erling Haaland deal is nearing its completion with the Norwegian set to officially join the club within the next few days. Since City negotiated for Haaland with Dortmund, there have been several rumours surrounding the fate of current Manchester City forwards.

It can be said that Gabriel Jesus has already started looking for a new club with the likes of Arsenal stepping up to sign the in-form forward.

Alongside Haaland, there will be a new addition to the frontline for next season and he is starting to become a fan favourite even though he will join the club in the coming days. Julian Alvarez will be joining Manchester City from River Plate and the 22-year-old is a one for the future.

The Argentinian is unlikely to receive regular or expected game time with the current squad depth in the frontline and this has set the rumour mill on alert linking the forward to clubs from Spain and Italy on a loan move.

Manchester City CEO Ferran Soriano in his interview clearly dismissed such links and told that City will be keeping the forward for next season rather than loaning him out.

These were his exact words during the interview when the question of Julian Alvarez was presented:

"“We’ve had many offers from clubs to loan Julian Alvarez – but he is not going to leave”“He will do pre-season with us and I think he will stay. Barcelona? No, Barça were not interested”."

The Argentine has scored 14 goals in 18 games across all competitions this season for River Plate and is an exceptional forward. The interest from other clubs is understandable after his recent performances but for now, he will join Man City and he is here to stay!
