Manchester City have been tipped to sign the long-term replacement of Kevin De Bruyne next summer.
The Cityzens have already been linked with the likes Jude Bellingham, Gavi, and Frenkie De Jong and now, Charles De Ketelaere as per De Standaard.
Charles De Ketelaere and Kevin De Bruyne are teammates for the Belgian National Team and the former is one of the brighter prospects going around currently. With that said, the 20-year-old has been tipped to replace the Belgian skipper at the Etihad.
The striker has been scoring goals on a consistent basis for Club Brugge this season and is enjoying a rich vein of form.
This season, from 26 appearances, he has managed to score 11 goals while laying out 7 assists.
This season is certainly a breakout one for the Belgian prospect, whose stocks are rapidly rising. He has also been capped four times for his National side, at such a young age.
Manchester City have been in the market for a striker and the defending Premier League champions will intensify their hunt for a marquee striker next summer. Despite landing Julian Alvarez this past winter, the Sky Blues are expected to go all-out for Erling Haaland.
Speaking about Charles De Ketelaere, former club Brugge coach Tronnd Sollied said that the 20-year-old would be a great fit for Manchester City and likewise.
"The 62-year-old further added:“De Ketelaere is fantastic”“He can go anywhere. I don’t think City need him right now. They already have so many, but they do play a system that would suit him like a glove.“Kevin De Bruyne must have been surprised when he saw him train for the national team.”“De Ketelaere looks like a smart boy to me. His father is a doctor, so he must have learned something.”Source: De Standaard"
It remains to be seen if City do actually want De Ketelaere in the future. This is because the Belgian forward is not currently the need of the hour for the Cityzens.
While KDB might be in his 30s, he is still very effective in the middle of the park.
City are unlikely to invest in the midfield as of now as they are believed to be saving up for Haaland. The PL league leaders though could look to invest in West Ham skipper Declan Rice, to replace their outgoing club veteran and legend, Fernandinho.
