Manchester City have reached an agreement with Paulo Dybala, as per Todofichajes.

Paulo Dybala, 28, is in the final six months of his contract at Turin and it was only in November that Juve and the Argentine were close to reaching an official agreement over a new long-term contract that would see the player earn €10 million per season.

The equation has now changed with the arrival of Dusan Vlahovic. The club despite its poor financial status went for Vlahovic and now the Bianconeri are not in a position to offer the 28-year-old a €10 million/season contract. It is understood that the two parties will be meeting in February to discuss a new contract with a significant pay cut.

Todofichajes reports that Manchester City are aware of the player’s current situation and have consequently, managed to reach a verbal agreement with the center-forward, whose contract expires in June.

The source reports that City will be paying the 28-year-old €10 million per season. The idea is to sign him for four seasons.

The source further reveals that Pep Guardiola has had personal conversations with the player to discuss his potential role at the Etihad.

Dybala has stated in the past that he dreams of playing for either Manchester City or Barcelona one day and with him looking set to move out of Turin on a Bosman, a move to Manchester may be on the cards.

Dybala could be the perfect addition for City who are looking for a proper number nine. The Cityzens have been linked with Erling Haaland but with the 21-year-old tipped to move to Spain and Vlahovic no longer on the market, Dybala could become a very good alternative.

Haaland has been tipped to join Real Madrid and City would practically get Dybala for free, should they decide to sign him. This is, of course, not taking into account the signing-on bonus and the agent fee.

However, as it stands, it is looking increasingly unlikely that Dybala will extend his stay with Juve. February will be crucial for the former Serie A champions who are hoping to keep their Argentine talisman at the club for the future.
