Manchester City have been in the market for a striker with the club launching three massive attempts to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur this past summer. The Cityzens’ attempts were shot down, of course.

Pep Guardiola currently has only Gabriel Jesus as the lone forward in his ranks but he has been blessed by some of the most versatile attacking players of Europe and which is why, the reigning Premier Legaue champions have coped well without a striker.

West Ham United are also on a similar boat but manager David Moyes does not exactly share the same blessing as Pep Guardiola. The Hammers have only Michail Antonio as their lone striker. The Jamaican international is enjoying a fruitful season with the Hammers with 8 goals and 6 assist from 21 appearances in the Premier League. With that said, WHU also boast of Divin Mubama, who is tipped to be the next big thing, when it comes to strikers.

Mubama, 17, is a part of the West Ham U-18 squad and before he left the youth system of the Hammers, he was linked with a move to Manchester City. It is understood that Mubama was being scouted by the Cityzens before he decided to sign his first professional contract with West Ham in 2020.

David Moyes is said to have convinced the player to continue with West Ham, which he joined when he was only 8-years-old. The former Manchester United manager convinced the English prodigy by giving an assurance that young players would be given a chance in the West Ham senior team.

Perhaps, the Hammers did not want to lose out on Mubama, like they did with Joshua Wilson-Esbrand, who joined City in 2019.

Times have changed since then and City have found their own gem in Liam Delap. Injuries have delayed the progress of the 18-year-old, who is tipped to become the next big thing in English football.

The City academy graduate made his senior debut this season and managed to score in it. It remains to be seen if he will be given a few more chances this season.
