Manchester City have been linked with Dusan Vlahovic and it is no secret now. The Serbian striker has hogged the limelight in European football with his impressive stats for Fiorentina.
The Fiorentina hitman is being eyed as a potential summer target by elite European clubs. The likes of Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Barcelona are said to be in the reckoning to land the 21-year-old.
Vlahovic, 21, has enjoyed a purple run since the start of last season. The striker has made 57 appearances for the Florence outfit in Serie A and has managed to find the back of the 37 times while registering 5 assists. This season, Vlahovic (16 goals) is only behind Ciro Immobile (17 goals) in the scoring charts for Serie A.
With that said, Fiorentina have tried hard enough to tie down their star striker at the club but the Serbian international is desperate for a move and has shot down all the offers thrown at him. It seems the 21-year-old is keen on a new challenge and is likely to be sold this summer. Fiorentina have also publicly disclosed that Vlahovic wants to leave the club and would be sold in the winter should a suitable offer arrive.
Speaking to Football Italia, football director Joe Barone has demanded Vlahovic to make a decision on his future soon.
"“There is talk about Dusan Vlahovic every day now. We just want to talk about the squad. We’ve already said so much about him, we expect a response from him and his entourage on what the future holds,” Barone told Sport Mediaset.“We have our plans and we are activating those immediately.”“I had a long conversation with Dusan the other day and I told him we need to understand his path. If he wants to stay at Fiorentina, then sign the contract. If he wants to leave, then say so publicly.“He can’t string an entire club, city and fanbase along waiting for him. From what I heard, he is not prepared to speak out, so we have to make our decision within the club.”Source: Football Italia"
One thing is clear that Fiorentina are ready to cash in on the striker whether be it this winter or next summer. A fee in the range of €90 million is being demanded to acquire the services of the striker this winter itself.
Arsenal have been tipped to make a move for the Serbian but the player is said to be eyeing a Champions League club and is not too keen on securing a move to Arsenal.
Do you think the Cityzens will sign Vlahovic or will they go all-out for Haaland?
