Manchester City star Bernardo Silva lays out transfer plans
Bernardo Silva has become a hot property in European football this season. The Portuguese midfielder is currently in the midst of a purple patch and has been the best player for Manchester City this season.
The 27-year-old, before the start of the season, had made it clear that he wanted to leave City but with no suitable offer arriving for the versatile attacking midfielder, Silva had to stay put. However, the player has remained professional in his approach and which is why City are currently at the top of the table in the Premier League and are staring at a successive PL title.
Last summer, Bernardo Silva was linked with a move to La Liga with the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Atletico Madrid said to be interested in signing him. There were no concrete talks regarding a deal involving the 27-year-old though, with any of the Spanish outfits.
City made as many as three attempts to sign Harry Kane and even tried to include Bernardo Silva in a player plus cash deal but both, the player and Tottenham refused the idea.
Speaking about his future to A BOLA, Bernardo Silva was asked if he would ever return to Benfica as a coach or a player and the player replied in affirmative. The midfielder said that he would go to Benfica “without a doubt” if they “wanted” him there.

Silva has been absolutely sensational for City this season. The attacking midfielder has scored seven times for the Cityzens this season. With that said, the former Monaco man has been delightful to watch in his build-up and the chances that he has been creating on a regular basis.
The 27-year-old has been averaging 1.3 shots per game and 1.6 key passes per game in the PL (Whoscored). With an average rating of 7.42, Silva has been consistent as well.
There is no doubt that Silva will be the key for the Cityzens if they are to win their maiden UEFA Champions League title this season. It remains to be seen if the midfielder can carry his current form for the remainder of the season as well.
