Manchester City are not usually active in the market during winters and this season seems to be no different as well. Despite West Ham United’s interest in City Centre-back Nathan Ake, Guardiola has made his intentions clear by denying any interest from the fellow English club. This comes as per The Athletic.

Ake, 26, hasn’t hit the ground up and running this year with just 11 appearances in the 19 Manchester City have featured. The Dutchman has been unable to surge ahead of players like Ruben Diaz, John Stones and Aymeric Laporte to feature in Pep’s defensive line consistently.

Manchester City have one of the best back lines in the Premier League, with the likes of Kyle Walker, Ruben Diaz, Aymeric Laporte and Joao Cancelo (right to left) being almost impossible to breach at times. The Skyblues have conceded a mere 12 goals in their 19 league fixtures, which speak volumes about their defense.

The former Bournemouth man who arrived at the Etihad in 2020 is a versatile player who can switch positions in the defensive third with ease. Guardiola isn’t too keen on offloading the promising Dutchman just yet, with the CB having signed a contract with the defending champions until 2025.

The three-way title race this season seems to be perfectly poised with City (47) having their noses 6 points clear from Liverpool (41) and Chelsea (41).

Manchester City have once again outdone themselves this season, playing without a proper striker. It just goes on to show the depth and the versatility in the City ranks.

West Ham seem to the perfect side for Nathan Ake to get some crucial minutes under his belt by featuring consistently in the starting XI but Guardiola seems to think otherwise. The Dutchman though isn’t going to go down without a fight for his spot in the Star-studded City outfit.

Will Nathan Ake be able to regain his spot in Guardiola’s XI?
