Manchester City seem to have received a body blow in pursuit of Bundesliga star Erling Haaland. Manchester United have emerged as the new favorites to sign the Borussia Dortmund Striker, considering the latest developments.

The Skyblues after being in the pole position for a lion share of this season, are out of contention from the list of clubs enrolled to secure the Norwegian goal machine, The Mirror understands.

Haaland, 21, has been absolutely sensational for his club, netting the ball on 86 occasions and assisting on 14 in 75 appearances for the Schwarz Galben. Such stats for a 21-year-old speaks volumes about his potential and the precision that he possesses in front of the goal.

The former Salzburg man has been always said to be keen on his future endorsements away from the Signal Iduna Park. His release clause of €75 million is set to be triggered next summer, making a move away from the Bundesliga likely.

Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola reiterated the fact that the Norwegian is keen on a move to Elite European Clubs like FC Barcelona, Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Manchester United.

The latter seems to be progressing at a rate of knots in the race, with renowned journalist Falk claiming that

"“You have to say that Manchester United are following developments themselves, including the topic of Haaland.”“I’ve been talking about City for a while now, and of course, Haaland’s name is always on the agenda.”“You have to be honest, though, with Pep Guardiola and Haaland, I don’t think he really wants this striker if he can get another one because the system of play is designed differently.”“At United, Haaland fits like a glove, as our experts said. Everything fits United perfectly.”"

Manchester City pushing their case for a potential signing of Fiorentina striker, Dusan Vlahovic is indicating that Guardiola seems to have moved from Haaland. The Serie-A starlet has been scintillating this year with a record tally of 69 goals in a single year only behind the 91 goals scored by Lionel Messi in 2012.

Having said that, the rift between Mino Raiola and Pep Guardiola doesn’t help City’s cause either with the super-agent likely to charge a hefty pay of £40 million as agent fee. Guardiola isn’t likely to disturb the wage structure at the Etihad, by caving in to the exorbitant wage demands that Raiola is said to be demanding for himself and his client.

Vlahovic has been on the radar of the Cityzens and the Sky Blues could make their move for the Fiorentina striker this winter, having approved the £45 million deal bid for Ferran Torres. Keeping this in mind, United could emerge as the favorite to sign the 21-year-old next summer.

So who should Manchester City target this winter/next summer?
Will it be Vlahovic or will it be Haaland?

Let us know.
