Manchester City in EIGHT team transfer race for star striker
Manchester City have been tipped to enter an eight-way transfer race this winter for a common winter target. The player in question is Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic.
The Serbian striker has been in red-hot form in recent times and thus, could be on his way out of the Serie A club this winter. Vlahovic, 21, has established himself as one of the finest strikers of the game in the Serie A and his stats speak for himself.
With 37 goals from 55 appearances for Fiorentina in the Serie A, it is clear why Manchester City have him on their radar. It is not going to be a straightforward chase for the 21-year-old’s signature though.
The Cityzens are not the only ones interested in signing the 21-year-old as the likes of Dortmund, AC Milan, Juventus, Tottenham, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, and Atletico Madrid are set to give the Cityzens a tough fight for the striker’s signature. This comes as per The Mirror.
Vlahovic is the dream of many clubs, heading into the winter window and could grab the headlines in the summer window as well, if at all he stays put this winter.
Fiorentina have confirmed that Vlahovic has failed to extend his contract with the club, which runs out in 2023. Despite being offered the highest-salary in club’s history, Dusan has made it clear that he is seeking pastures new.
Signing Vlahovic would require a fee in the range of £77 million and the player is said to be demanding £200,000/week wages. These are numbers that City can reach and out of all the clubs interested in the 21-year-old, City can offer the player the best sporting project.
Under Guardiola, the Serbian can unlock his true potential and the player would be excited to play under one of the world’s best coaches.
City have also been linked with Erling Haaland and are tipped to go all-out for the Dortmund striker next summer, with his £65 million release clause set to be activated. Haaland is likely to leave and that makes Dortmund’s interest all the more interesting.
The former Bundesliga champions could look to invest the ‘Haaland money’ into Dusan Vlahovic but it remains to be seen if the striker would end up choosing Dortmund over the likes of Manchester City, Tottenham, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid.
The player was courted by Arsenal this previous summer window as well but he had no intention to play for the Gunners. The London-based outfit’s interest in the Fiorentina striker is still there to be seen and Tottenham are also said to be gearing up to enter the race.
Do you think City will be able to get their hands on the rising Serbian?
