On a Tuesday night at the Etihad, Manchester City staged another exceptional performance in front of their home supporters as they brutally gunned down Leeds United 7-0. The likes of John Stones, Jack Grealish, Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden, Riyad Mahrez, and Nathan Ake found themselves registering their name on the scoresheet and were instrumental in this latest win at their home turf.

Guardiola’s men were labeled ‘favorites’ before the start of the game and had made it evident right from the first minute of the game, pinning down the visitors with two quick goals in the first quarter of the half.

Bielsa’s men were given no room to make a comeback in this game as City bullied them till the very end of the game.

A solid three-goal lead at half-time wasn’t enough for the hosts as we saw the Sky Blues add four more goals in the latter half of the game. To sum up this win, this was probably Manchester City’s best outing this season.

While one might argue that this joyous victory came against a less ‘elite’ club, but it is pertinent to remember that it did come at a crucial juncture of the season.

#Jack Grealish(Manchester City)

There has been a lot of talk surrounding Grealish’s form this season. Critics have been harsh on City’s most expensive signing and have often termed the player as  ‘average’ and even ‘unfit’ for Guardiola’s side. If judged fairly, then yes, the former Villa man has not been up to mark this term. However, in recent weeks, we have noticed improvements in the player’s form and have started to see small clips of his true quality.

Against Leeds United, the Englishman was absolutely brilliant as he stormed Bielsa’s backline with superb runs and was highly influential in City’s final third. City’s new 10 opened the scoring for his side and had looked like he was worth every dime of his massive transfer fee.

#Kevin De Bruyne(Manchester City)

This City superstar, too, has been condemned for his recent performances in the Sky Blue outfit. Thankfully, the Belgian was in fine form at the Etihad on Tuesday as he led his team from the front. Goals poured in from this midfield maestro as the 30-year-old scored a superb brace to help his side batter the life of this Leeds United side.

Probably, the only disappointment for the midfielder was the fact that he missed out on a possible hattrick. Nevertheless, De Bruyne’s latest outing will be great news for Guardiola as he has been desperate to see the veteran return to form this term.
