Manchester City long-term target cautioned to ‘choose Guardiola’

Serie A breakout sensation, Dusan Vlahovic has been ranked high on Manchester City’s preferred list of players to target in the January window. The deal though seems to be well on course with the Fiorentina forward advised by Antonio Cassano that he must be thankful for the opportunity to play under the world’s best in the form of  Pep Guardiola.

Vlahovic, 21, has taken the Serie A by storm this season netting the ball on 15 occasions in 17 appearances for Fiorentina. His stats are quite spectacular with a G/A of 41 for 54 appearances with the Italian club.

However, Former Italian forward, Antonio Cassano has advised Vlahovic to join forces with the defending PL champions. Speaking to Bobo TV (h/t Sport Witness), Cassano said that at the chance to move to the Etihad Stadium if the opportunity arises.

"“Vlahovic, choose Guardiola and go to Manchester City.”“I don’t know if you’ll be up to it, but within a year you could reach Haaland’s level. If, on the other hand, you find a coach who does not know to communicate with you, growth stops.”"

Manchester City have been able to cope with the absence of an Aguero-isque striker in their ranks, rising to the occasion time and again with Guardiola’s style of play involving high press, position, and passing coming to the fore.

Having said that, City are keen on the touch down of arguably the next big thing of Football, in the form of Borussia Dortmund starlet Erling Haaland in the upcoming transfer window, when his release clause of €75M commences.

Cityzens are going to face a stiff challenge with the likes of Bayern Munchen, FC Barcelona, and Liverpool in pursuit of the Norwegian goal machine as well. If at all City lose Haaland despite being regarded favorites to get the signature of the 21-year-old, Dusan Vlahovic could be the perfect alternative with what he brings to the table.

Nevertheless, the likes of Arsenal, Tottenham are chasing the Serbian forward and these words of wisdom from Cassano could prove decisive for the Fiorentina striker’s future.
