Manchester City tipped to plot a sensational £45 million bid for Serie A star
Manchester City, Tottenham, and Arsenal have all been linked with Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlhaovic. The young Serbian has lit up the Serie A this season, carrying his previous season’s rich goal-scoring form into this term.
Vlahovic has been nothing short of sensational this season for the Serie A outfit, notching up 13 goals in the Italian league and making him the joint top-scorer alongside Ciro Immobile.
The 21-year-old has found the net 36 times in 54 appearances for Fiorentina since the start of the last season and many believe that he could be one of the potential solutions to City’s persistent number nine woes. Having said that, Vlahovic has no interest in continuing his stay with his current side as he looks set for pastures new.
Having already rejected a new contract proposal from Fiorentina, the 21-year-old could finally move as early as this winter, understands Give Me Sport.
City are said to be one of the many long-term admirers of the Serbian, who is considered to be an economical alternative to Erling Haaland.
Erling Haaland is also on the radar of the Cityzens and with his €75 million release clause set to be in motion next summer, the entire deal could cost up to €120 million, taking into account the exorbitant wage demands of the player, signing-on bonuses and the agent fee.
Fiorentina are looking to sell the striker whose contract runs out in 2023. Vlahovic is said to be valued at £45 million by Transfermrkt but Fiorentina want nothing less than €70 million for the striker, in January.
It is clear that the Italian outfit will not mind parting ways with their leading goal-scorer of this season this winter if their valuation is met.
As per Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge, City are likely to win the race for Vlahovic this January, with then CItyzens being presented with another golden opportunity to make it big in the UEFA Champions League this season, having drawn Sporting CP in the UCL RO16.

It is also understood that Newcastle have entered the race to sign the 21-year-old but with the Magpies struggling to get out of the relegation zone, Vlahovic is unlikely to consider a move to Newcastle.
Arsenal and Tottenham are not said to be on the radar of the Fiorentina star and that leaves out Manchester City as the clear favorites to sign the Serbian.
City would be immensely benefitted if they do sign the ‘pure number nine’ they have been looking for, in Vlahovic but it will be interesting to see if they want to wait until the next summer for Erling Haaland.
