Guardiola optimistic of City to preserve their “GENERATIONAL TALENT”!

Phil Foden has been absolutely sensational so far in this campaign with a pretty impressive G/A of 9 in 16 appearances for Manchester City. He has been versatile enough to switch positions around the attacking third, partly reliving Guardiola’s woes of not having a proper number nine in his ranks.
Foden, 21, has seen an astronomical rise in his stocks owing to his progress, not only in Manchester City ranks but the World Football as well. The way Pep Guardiola has groomed the Englishman for the big stage has been nothing short of sensational.
Foden though, is injury-prone and that has been one of the very few drawbacks in his game thus far. He was unable to be a part of the epic finale of EURO 2020 where England lost to Italy 2-4 in the penalties at Wembley after reaching the final hurdle of a marquee event first time since the 1966 World Cup.
With a recurring ankle-soreness keeping the 21-year-old on his haunches for a considerable amount of time, Guardiola provided an insight into Foden’s situation in the pre-match press conference of the home fixture against Wolves.
"“When you have an injury in the ankle, if you have two months holidays you will recover incredibly well. But when you have games every three days you start with some niggles,”“I think he has these niggles, you have to live with that but every time he is better and better.”“He will dictate, he will say how we feels. At this moment in December and this amount of games… Knowing Phil he will want to fight to be there.”Source: MEN."
Foden, is certainly of the same class as Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, with his footballing skills, attacking prowess, and agility coming to his aid. Manchester City have the duty to keep him at the club as he could well be the one to lead the Cityzens’ line in the future.
Will Manchester City reach new heights with Phil Foden in the ranks?
Let us know.
