Manchester City are scheduled to host the Wolves on Saturday for their next league fixture in the Championship. Currently, City are leading the table with 35 points and hence would look to avoid any further mishaps in their ongoing title defence.

This weekend, the Sky Blues will be out to make amends for their poor outing in the Champions League earlier this week, which saw the English outfit falter to a 2-1 loss at the hands of RB Leipzig.

In the pre-match press conference,Guardiola addressed the importance of the fixture and had also spoken a few words about their opponents. The Spaniard’s words were :

"They scored 12 goals and conceded 13 and are so stable. They played more between the lines last season, it was always tough in last years when we faced Wolves and tomorrow will be no exception. When you have played 15 games and you can take a look at goals scored, goals conceded – their balance is stable, few on both sides. Always when we face Wolves it has been a tight game. They have structure, pace up front and good character.Source : MEN"

An ideal Manchester City XI should consist of…..

Ederson will be chosen as the no.1 shot-stopper as he has been consistent between the sticks. At the back, Ruben Dias and John Stones are likely to be paired as the main centre-backs.  City’s defensive flanks will consist of Kyle Walker, who is set to return as the right-back, whereas, Joao Cancelo will start in his usual left-back role.

Rodri will return as the defensive midfielder and will have the vital job of shielding his backline after being rested in the Leipzig fixture. The Spaniard will be provided support in the form of two solid central midfielders. Therefore, Kevin De Bruyne will be deployed in the left central midfield position whereas the right midfield role will be handed to Bernardo Silva, who has been in superb form this term.

In the final third,  Raheem Sterling will occupy the right-winger role. He has been in good touch in front of the goal and will be raring to add more goals to his tally. Cole Palmer might be in line to receive a full-fledged start, but chances are that Gabriel Jesus will be the no.1 choice for the striker role on Saturday. Jack Grealish will take up the left-winger position and will play an integral role in this star-studded City attack.
