Manchester City reignite their interest in highly-rated Barcelona Midfielder

Manchester City is reportedly planning for a stunning reunion of their boss, Pep Guardiola with his former pupil and Barcelona Skipper, Sergio Busquets as a potential replacement for Fernandinho, The Mirror understands.
The Catalans amassed a body blow last night when they lost 0-3 to arch-rivals Bayern Munich at the Allianz arena and got knocked out of the UEFA Champions League in the process for the first time in twenty years.
They now enter the second-tier competition of European Clubs, the UEFA Europa League. The lacklusterness of the attacking third is costing Xavi’s men game after game and even the players seem to be demoralized by the fact that Barcelona is no longer the force they once were.
Having said that, Busquets is already considering his options and a potential Premier League switch with the Cityzens is likely to be followed.
Fernandinho, 36, is tipped to bid farewell on his stellar career at the Etihad at the end of this season when his contract expires with the Skyblues. The Spanish veteran will be a like-for-like replacement for the Brazilian midfielder with all of his experience, guile, and precision to be taken into consideration.
Guardiola seems to be keen on bringing in reinforcements in the midfield with Ilkay Gundogan, Kevin De Bruyne on the wrong side of the thirties, and their vulnerability to injuries. Though Busquets is not going to be the one for the future, he might assist the youngsters in unleashing their potential.
El Nacional, reports that Busquets ‘ has always been seduced by the Premier League’ and Joan Laporta will not make ‘great efforts’ to keep the player.
With Xavi expected to move on from the likes of Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, and Gerard Pique. The Manchester City move for the 33-year-old is not going to be a surprise if it does happen eventually.
Will Busquets bid farewell to the Camp Nou and reunite with his former boss, Pep Guardiola?
